WINE AND CHEESE PARTY
On February 15th from 1:00 to 3:00, we are holding a party for church music ministers and worship leaders in the area. We will display our sacred choral music and catalogues for them to browse. We hope to customize our store to fit their needs. We are advertising on the radio and in the papers. Also, many are being personally invited by phone call. We have a growing list of ministers who will be attending.
The conception of “Miller’s Sheet Music & Studios” began on December 27th, 2008. Even though our Grand Opening was May 2, 2009, the store has been in process now for a whole year. It has been an exciting and challenging year with many blessings and many out right miracles. We are managing very well and our sales have increased significantly. We are proud to be able to state that we have 115 students taking lessons in the store. Therefore, this newsletter is dedicated to our wonderful teachers. I hope you will enjoy the testimonials.
A FAMILY AFFAIR
Miranda, Christopher and Nicholas started learning piano and flute at the early ages of 8,6 and 4. They blossomed and before I knew it, they started playing in school concerts and in front of anyone who would listen. I didn’t have a force them, there was no nagging to practice and most importantly, they enjoyed going to class.
You can only imagine that relocating to Florida from New Jersey was a big move for my 3 children. Not only were they leaving behind friends and family, they were leaving behind their music teachers, their musical mentors. Obviously as a parent, I didn’t want to sacrifice what skills they had learned and jeopardize that zest for music. So I started researching into different music schools as soon as we moved in August. It was a daunting task. First, few schools could accommodate both the multiple cravings of my children. Secondly, finding a day and time that didn’t conflict with school activities was also a challenge. Lastly, there was no music school or private teacher that could provide lessons to all 3 children at the same time. As a mobile, working mom, scheduling is key to maintaining my sanity.
Talk about luck, one day, while I was driving home on Bonita beach, I notice a music store sign in a small shopping mall by Johnny Malloy’s restaurant. I walked in and met Theresa Miller, the owner. She spoke of the flexibility of the classes, the variety of music classes offered, the teacher qualifications, and the reasonable student pricing. Immediately, I knew that I had found the perfect place for my children. So the family affair for music has my youngest, Nicholas, now age 5, continuing his piano love with Theresa. Christopher has taken up the guitar with Mario and Miranda plays the flute with Don. For a proud parent, it doesn’t get better than that!

“Singing with Ms. Hilary has been a great experience” says Lexie Hamilton. “She is a wonderful teacher and we have lots of fun together. I encourage kids who like singing to try voice lessons with her. Taking lessons with Ms. Hilary has also helped me to be more confident in front of people. I even sang on stage at a Christmas Recital. I think that taking voice lessons will also help me with things I will do at school when I have to speak or perform in front of a lot of people. Ms. Hilary teaches me how to not be nervous and that is something everyone needs to learn!”
I would like to compliment Theresa Miller on her choice of Larry Maas as my piano teacher. He has a very cheerful personality. He passes on to me his knowledge of the subject he teaches, “the piano.” His skills that make his lessons special, are patience; like…”Let’s try it this way.” When my mind is blocked in the lessons, he slowly walks me through the lesson and makes sure I understand it all. Larry always finds something wonderful to say about your lesson. He is always every positive in his comments, corrections etc…and has a special knack for reading my thoughts. It is obvious that he loves his job and working with the students. His enthusiasm is catching as it motivates me to practice and to really learn how to play “the piano.”

I have fun learning to play at my lessons. A lot of people play piano already and I picked the violin because I wanted to do something different. My teacher, Ms. Michele, is really funny and I learn a lot from her. She says the violin is the best instrument in the whole world, and she’s right!
Violinist, Allyssa Guarino
I enjoy my lessons with Brian very much. He is a very patient and easy going teacher with me. He makes me feel very comfortable during our time together as I try to learn the guitar.
If you love music and you are thinking about learning to play an instrument, Miller’s Sheet Music & Studios is the place to be!

My lessons at Miller’s Sheet Music Store with Ms. Ellie have been a wonderful experience. All of the warm-ups and songs that she has given me has increased my ability to sing stronger and be more confident. The lessons have also improved my vocals and encouraged me to get up on stage. Mrs. Ellie is by far the best vocalist I have ever had and ever will.
Maddy Miller
My time spent at Miller’s Music Store has really changed my view on singing. There are so many options for songs and notes that have now been opened up to me. My lessons with Ms. Ellie have really helped me in so many ways to become a better singer. Her strategies such as breathing techniques and warm-ups have definitely helped me to bring out my voice. Every time I walk into Miller’s Music Store, I am greeted with a smile. I would recommend lessons there to anyone who enjoys performing music. Katie Miller
Joanna has been a student of Theresa Miller for the past 2 years. She always looks forward to going to class even if she didn’t practice like she should! Theresa’s patience and understanding makes it easy for Joanna to learn and it creates an environment where Joanna enjoys playing the piano rather then being discouraged. I personally have been playing the piano since I was 5 years old…a very long time!....so watching her grow in her love of music is nothing short of a blessing!
Thank you for everything you are doing for our daughter!
On behalf of the teachers and staff of Miller’s Sheet Music, it has been a pleasure serving you and we hope all of our students and their families enjoy a prosperous New Year.
